Artist Profile

Masashi Yamano (Tanpopo-No-Ye)

With rich colors and lively lines, Masashi Yamano draws living creatures and nature. He has exhibited in various places, including the Omuro Art Festival (Kyoto/2023) held at the World Heritage Site of Ninna-ji Temple, and a solo exhibition and public production held on Inujima Island in the Seto Inland Sea (Okayama/2022) . His works have also been used as public art, including the Nara Prefectural Convention Center.

Takuya Tamura (Atelier Yamanami)

Born in 1992, living in Shiga Prefecture, and working at Atelier Yamanami since 2011. Tamura uses markers as his painting materials, drawing motifs such as animals and people on postcard-sized to full-size drawing paper. After first drawing an overall picture, he then uses different colors, carefully painting over the lines one by one. As he repeats this process, the squares are filled with bright colors. He repeats this process every day at the same time, in the same place, and with the same rhythm. He prefers to be alone and quiet rather than around people. You can see his great passion for art in the expression on his face when he creates. Tamura continues to create in the hope of being able to exhibit his art in many places.

Ryuji Kawano (Atelier CORNERS)

Born in 1994, and lives in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. Kawano started painting in 2013.
While chatting with members of the group, he draws delicate and vigorous lines with a water-based pen; the surface of the paper sometimes becomes furry from the friction of drawing in one place, and the paper sometimes ripples from the sweat of his hands. His works are remarkable because of the intended colors and complexity of his paintings, which are made by chance, and you can tell he has put a lot of time into them.
His main exhibitions include Spread Our Common Sense in JAPAN (Hong Kong) , 2018; the sponsoring organization award, ‘Project to Discover Rising Stars in the World of Contemporary Art’, 2015; and the honorable mention, Big Eye Art Project, 2015, Selected for the 1st Art Para Fukagawa Grand Prize National Open Call Exhibition’, 2020.
