Koichiro Takagi
Born in Tokyo in 1974, Koichiro Takagi moved to the United States after graduating from university and studied silkscreen printing at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He later began his career as a painter in New York before returning to Japan in 2005. Currently based in Tokyo, he is known for creating strange utopian worlds populated by animals and anthropomorphic creatures, where opposing elements—such as familiarity and discomfort, anonymity and mystique—coexist. Influenced by punk music and street art, he expands his artistic expression through a wide range of media including painting, embroidery, silkscreen, collage, and stencil work.
Takuro Tamura
Born in Osaka in 1989, Takuro Tamura graduated from Kyoto University of the Arts and later worked with “SANDWICH,” the art platform led by Kohei Nawa, before establishing himself as an independent artist. Using urban infrastructure and everyday scenery as motifs, he creates works that generate new meanings by shifting their original functions and contexts. Through sharp observation and humor, his works uncover poetic tension hidden within familiar urban landscapes. Based in Osaka, he continues to exhibit and work both in Japan and internationally.
