Osaka-ekimae Underground Passage Event Space (In front of Hanshin Department Store Umeda Main Store)

This exhibition features works inspired by Japanese visual culture. On display are a vibrant, handcrafted giant tapestry and the “Sorry Boy” series, developed during an artist residency in Arita, Saga to symbolize the power of authenticity.

Additionally, a collaborative workshop will be held during the exhibition, where students create and display tapestries on-site through a creative dialogue with Bas Kosters.

Bas Kosters

Bas Kosters is an Amsterdam-based artist and designer. After gaining recognition as a fashion designer, he expanded his practice into textiles, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics. He has presented a major retrospective at Rijksmuseum Twenthe in The Netherlands, and continues to exhibit internationally at museums, galleries, and art fairs across Europe.
