This exhibition showcases the diverse collection accumulated over Takashimaya's 195-year history, presented chronologically. Part II, titled "The Glorious Era," focuses on the period from the Taisho era to the pre-war Showa era, when department store culture flourished in Japan.

Takashimaya Archives

Located in the Takashimaya East Annex, a designated Important Cultural Property, the Takashimaya Historical Museum houses and displays approximately 50,000 items of diverse materials from the company's founding. It features a permanent exhibition showcasing the department store's history, as well as various themed exhibitions. Digital exhibits, including interactive timelines and large touch-panel monitors, are also available.
