Xylin
Xylin—meaning material forest—is a space for collecting, researching, and processing materials available in a satoyama in Hashimoto, Wakayama. Researching the stories associated with the materials found in the mountains and their relationship to daily lives, artists and designers create objects by interweaving traditional wisdom and experimental methods. This exhibition will feature works created by Isamu Hazama, who runs the space; teo rhe, a Korean designer based in the Netherlands who focuses on material research and innovative object-making; and Wataru Imamura, an Osaka-based designer who creates works focusing on rectilinear lines.
