lille3000
The Association lille3000 was created as part of the European Capital of Culture in 2004 (Lille 2004). Lille (in the north of France) and its region profoundly changed the way people looked at the city and an entire territory. It made for an exceptional year, from which strong images endure, such as the Opening Celebration drawing a crowd of 750,000, the Parallel Worlds or the countless Metamorphoses, but it has also had a durable legacy in the form of the Maisons Folie.
Futurotextiles is a pioneering project, initiated in 2006 by lille3000 and curated by Caroline David. It combines science, technology, design, fashion and art around innovative textiles in fields as varied as clothing, transport, sport, housing, architecture, geotextiles, medicine, well-being and protection. The exhibition has toured around the world with a total 35 exhibitions, Futurotextiles 7 being the 36th (and the 7th big edition and the 1st Futurotextiles exhibition ever in being held in Japan).
