Fascinated by traditional crafts, Shota Nakatsugawa taught himself Japanese painting and is known for his works that incorporate graffiti images. He incorporates silkscreen techniques, which are rare in the Japanese painting world, and has produced works that can be used worldwide. In a time when traditional crafts are being lost in Japanese culture, he has received overwhelming support from all quarters for his contemporary works that incorporate modern art.
