Time Out Market Osaka, located on the B1 floor of Grand Green Osaka, which opened in March 2025, showcases artwork created by Osaka-based artist SHUN NAKAO, born in 1992 in Asaka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Nakao has been active as an artist, working as an illustrator since  graduating from the Department of Design at Osaka University of Arts . Since childhood, he has been significantly influenced by 80s fashion and music. "It is an honor to exhibit such works at Time Out Market Osaka, the first of its kind in Asia. I thought about how to express the energetic spirit of Osaka through my artwork, arranging vibrant colors and shapes, and creating a design that visualizes the innocence and liveliness of the city, like a child having fun doodl on a fogged-up window against the backdrop of Osaka. I hope this piece will become a beloved presence not only for the people of Osaka, but also for many visitors to Time Out Market Osaka," Nakao stated.

SHUN NAKAO

Born in Asago City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1992 and currently residing in Osaka, I graduated from the Department of Design at Osaka University of Arts and began my career as an illustrator. In 2019, after experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic, I started my activities as an artist in earnest. Since my childhood, I have been greatly influenced by 1980s fashion, music, as well as manga and anime culture. My work focuses on visualizing the feelings of discomfort I experience in everyday life and cultural themes.

Timeout Market Osaka

"Time Out Market Osaka" is a food and culture market that has been established in the south building of Grand Green Osaka, marking its debut in Asia. It brings together the "best" of  the city under one roof, providing a space where people can enjoy incredible food while immersing themselves in local culture.
Covering a vast area of over 3,000 square meters, the space features 17 meticulously curated kitchens and two bars showcasing the  skills of emerging chefs. It aims to spotlight the talented chefs and restaurants of Kansai, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience "authentic Osaka". Additionally, it will serve as a platform to promote that talent both domestically and internationally. Throughout the year, a variety of cultural programs, including live music, art, and family-oriented entertainment, will be held, creating a unique space where food and culture can be enjoyed together.
