Artist / Brand

Kozo Nishino

Born in Hyogo Prefecture, Kozo Nishino currently lives in Kyoto Prefecture.
Drawing inspiration from natural phenomena in the sky, he creates delicate yet dynamic metal sculptures focusing on the themes of space and winds. Using titanium and stainless steel as his main materials, the artist represents the expanses of time and space by shaping wires based on his long experience and great skill in precise handwork. His kinetic works, which feature beautiful see-through structures and float while balancing delicately, continue to change shape unexpectedly like the weather in reaction to changes in air currents and the surroundings. Many sculptural works by Nishino are exhibited as public art pieces both in Japan and abroad, gently connecting people with each other and people with nature while playing together with the landscape. Those works are loved by people beyond regional and cultural differences.

Gallery

Umeda Sky Building

A connected high-rise building with a unique form, featuring two towers joined by a "Floating Garden Observatory." It soars within a landscape where the urban and the natural coexist, offering scenery that changes with the seasons.
In 2008, it was featured in the British newspaper THE TIMES and ranked among the "Top 20 Buildings Around the World," alongside historical structures such as the Sagrada Família and the Parthenon, gaining international attention.
