The fantastic night scenes and the gentleness of the tapir Moo depicted by Hitomi Murakami, a print artist who began her career as a picture book author after publishing abroad, are conveyed through the use of subdued colors and simple strokes, making this a book you will want to read before going to bed at night.

Hitomi Murakami

Printmaker and picture book artist. Born in Osaka, she studied printmaking in a studio in Florence, Italy. She has been active in a wide range of fields, including illustrations for children’s picture books and practical books. Selected for display at the Illustrators Exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy in 2003,2005, and 2006.
