Tezukayama Gallery is pleased to present the solo exhibition by Masaaki Suzuki. Opening day is May 17th Suzuki paints a residential area at night, as a theme of “artificial light”. His work gives the viewers a sense of déjà vu, as if they have passed through this area before, but also a sense of entering into the darkness of the night.

Artist Profile

Masaaki Suzuki

Born 1981 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. He completed his postgraduate studies in oil painting at Aichi University of the Arts in 2008.
Suzuki creates works on the theme of ‘artificial light’. As the artist captures the surroundings he has seen on canvas, his emotions and brushstrokes overlap, resulting in paintings that evoke human activities rather than the scenery he has recognized.
