Jun Sugimae
Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1983. Graduated from Ueda Yasuko Fashion School in 2004. Learned tailoring while in school and gained experience in fashion such as assisting brands and producing opera costumes. After graduating, went to London. Returned to Japan in 2006 and began creating works while working in sports fashion. Presents works using the technique of “sashiko,” repairing and decorating modern products such as sneakers and mountain parkas with just needle and thread.
