Getting its start in 2023 with the “THE ONE AND ONLY” concept, G.O.A.T is a brand for adults who never forget to have fun. It focuses on clay pots, as well as plants, figures, and more. It fuses nostalgia-tinted Japanese culture with overseas cultures to express modern masculinity and toughness. To commemorate the brand’s first anniversary, we are selling pots by Shigaraki-ware artisan SHODO and soft vinyl figures made in collaboration with Hong Kong’s soft vinyl brand “One Little Planet.”

Artist Profile

SHODO

Born in Shigaraki-cho, Koka City. A graduate of Kyoto University of Arts and Kyoto Ceramics Technical College. Around 2004, he joined Hand Craft YASUO, run by his father, Yasumasa, and began making pottery in earnest. In 2023, he teamed up with G.O.A.T to develop clay pots for tuberous plants in particular.
He values an unconventional perspective and is particular about creating unusual pottery that actively uses glazes. SHODO continues to research and refine pottery that matches the changing times as a way to pass on traditional crafts to the next generation.

One Little Planet

One Little Planet was established in Hong Kong in 2019 by two artists with the desire to bring people together through art. The name comes from the words of Carl Sagan, who said, “Everything that humans do is nothing more than an event on a small planet when viewed from the far reaches of the universe.” Every day, they search for that magical moment in their designs when art touches the heart.
